Registry Updates

What changed in the FAA aircraft registry: new registrations, removals, and the slow churn of America's light-aircraft fleet, tracked snapshot by snapshot.

Latest update covers January 7, 2026 to June 10, 2026 · fleet total 268,170 aircraft · RSS

Methodology

Each update compares two snapshots of the FAA Releasable Aircraft Database, filtered to Class 1 light aircraft (under 12,500 lbs, drones excluded). An added N-number means a new registration, not necessarily a new airframe; re-registrations and N-number changes appear too. Removals include expired, exported, and deregistered aircraft. The FAA records changes with a paperwork lag.
